Her father was professor and HOD (English) at Vikram University in Ujjain. Soumya got her school education from ‘Saint Mary Convent’ Ujjain and got graduated from ‘Fore School of Management’ New Delhi. At a very early age, Saumya began her career in modelling with walking to the ramp of various fashion show stages.
Soumya was first runner up in “Femina cover girl” 2006. With having extra ordinary talent, she got her first role in serial “Aisa Desh Hai Mera” 2006 and also made her Bollywood debut in movie “Jab We Met” 2007 along with Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.
She has hosted well the very popular and famed TV shows such as “Dance India Dance” (2009-2012) “Malaika-E- kitchen” (2010-2013),” Bournvita Quiz Contest” (2011-2014), “Comedy Circus ke Tansen” (2017) and more. She has casted as Anita Mishra in Highly popular TV show “Bhabhiji ghar par hai” which was aired on &TV.
