Challenges have helped me grow- Ayub Khan

Ayub Khan

24th June 2021, Mumbai: It’s very easy to imitate a character or an emotion, but very difficult to play one. Having the opportunity to play a variety of characters on screen both on television and in movies, Ayub Khan is already enthralling the audience with his never like before performance in Dangal TVs Ranju Ki Betiyaan. He shares about how some roles can be very challenging as one has never experienced certain situations.

Sharing his experience of roles that can be challenging, he says, “I have got a chance to perform some really challenging sequences. While some were physically taxing, some needed me to be mentally strong. In such cases, it is difficult to perform as you haven’t experienced something like that in real life but you have to make sure you are convincing enough for the audience. Like in a recent sequence in Ranju Ki Betiyaan, my character Guddu Mishra has lost everything he had earned in his lifetime due to which he gives up on his life and decides to end it. This scene was challenging physically for the whole crew as we shot it outdoors with the summer sun blaring right above our heads. But it was also mentally demanding as this is a feeling I have never gone through and wouldn’t even want to. But I am glad we were able to successfully shoot it with the required emotions”

He adds, “This sequence did give me a reality check on how important life is and how we must make sure we live it to the fullest and should always fight through the lows. In the show, the reaction of the daughters depicts how there is always someone leaning on you and hence giving up should never be an option.”

It is important to acknowledge the strengths and overcome the fears with walking towards the path of success.

Ranju Ki Betiyaan is a heart touching story of a single mother Ranju and her struggles of raising 4 daughters in a patriarchal society.
